Maiya Online Development Blog
Hello everyone,
I'd like to personally welcome you to the new development blog for Maiya Online. It is currently in the writing stages of development, and artwork designs are to follow once we have a finished script of the game's storyline.
To start this blog off I will be introducing 3 character classes we have decided upon so far.
1. Minotaur Berserker (Melee) - Lv 1-30 Berserker - Lv 31-60 Rampage Dancer
Backstory - Minotaurs are rare and fierce mythical creatures. They don't need droves of allies in an army like humans do, just a mere few fully trained Minotaurs are lethal enough to decimate a population and overthrow kingdoms.
In Maiya Online, players can pick the Minotaur as their character choice for Melee/Fighting classes. From level 1-30 in the game players will get to experience the Berserker class for the Minotaur.
Weapons for this class include giant axes, swords, thick shields crafted by ancient trees, maces, and clubs. Higher level gear can be obtained through completion of quests and dungeons. (There is a planned PvP aspect that we will be discussing further in the future).
Level 31-60 Minotaur class changes into the Rampage Dancer. These Minotaurs are on their way to becoming fully trained in their class. Unlocking devastatingly powerful skills to become one of the most unique Tank classes of its' kind.
Weapons for the Rampage Dancer include Dual 2H Swords or Axes - That's right, in most games you can only wield 1 2H sword/weapon at a time due to the weight and strength, however since Minotaurs are far more powerful than a human, we decided to make them capable of the impossible.
2. Harpy Magician (Mage/Magic) - Lv 1-30 Spellbinder - Lv 31-60 Prophet
Backstory - The Harpy has always been well known for being one of the more annoying mythical creatures. However in many aspects they are one of the most skilled in their training and can easily take down groups of humans with just a mere few. Harpies are known for their ability to fly, using airborne maneuvers to catch their foe off-guard and go in for the kill.
In Maiya Online players can choose the Harpy Magician as their Magic/Mage class character. Level 1-30 players will be able to experience the Spellbinder class for Harpy magicians. Spellbinders can cast a variety of spells to cause damage over time, as well as a couple powerful spells to create a ripple effect in damaging those around them (AOE).
Weapons for the Spellbinder Harpy class are to include staffs, whips, bladed claws for up-close melee and spell casting. Harpies in Maiya Online are designed to be proficient at Magic skills, as well as some ranged and melee skills tied in - making them one of the best choices in the game.
From level 31-60 players can further expand their Harpy class to the Prophet. These harpies are well-trained masters of magic who can perform crippling spells and enchantments to prevent their foes from further attacks. Prophets can use weapons such as a class-specific Y-shaped staff intended for magic and melee attacks. They may also use arm-bound whips to further their AOE damage and destroy multiple enemies at once. The claws will be replaced with a scepter that can summon a guardian animal to help protect them in times of need.
3. Centaur Archer - Ranged/Support Class - Lv 1-30 Warden - Lv 31-60 Trooper
Backstory - Centaurs are strong independent leaders. They can be seen in groups or by themselves living off the lands. At a young age, most Centaurs in tribes are taught the skills of various classes to carve a prosperous path into their future. Most Centaurs are trained in Archery skills as well. This is to aid with their hunting, and as a method to protect the peace and their people from harm's way.
In the game players can choose Centaur Archers as their Ranged/Support class character. From level 1-30 you get to play the Warden class. Wardens are keen-sighted and can hit every target they're up against. These powerful archers are skilled and always keep a calm attitude when aiming for a target.
Wardens can use short bows, long bows, and have access to a special poison dart pipe to paralyze their enemies before going in for the kill-shot.
From level 31-60 players can further upgrade their Centaurs to the Trooper class. Troopers are masters of ranged attack, they can shoot from long distances and adapt camouflage using hand-made paints to conceal themselves from their enemies and even wild animals while hunting.
Troopers can use tribal long bows specifically made for the class, and the ultimate archer weapon; a crossbow.
